The Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) works seven days a week and consists of two sergeants and 10 officers.
The CRU has a primary focus area that is comprised of the central portion of the city. Enforcement efforts are directed at reducing crime and improving quality of life for the people who live, work and recreate in Ogden City. The CRU strives to reduce Part 1 crimes by utilizing intelligence-led policing strategies, proactive patrols, and thorough investigative efforts.
The CRU also focuses on gang suppression, habitual offenders to include people on parole and probation, and pattern crimes. The pattern crimes include vehicle break-ins, burglaries, theft, and vandalism.
